It is estimated that more than 55 million people worldwide are affected by dementia.

The Control and Evaluation Administration (AEC) of the national nursing insurance conducted a study toward the beginning of the year to generate an overview of concerned cases. It showed that 27% of all nursing cases suffer from a dementia.

Women are twice as likely to be concerned than men. Around half of patients are between the age of 80 and 89.
