The incident unfolded late in the evening of 15 February on Rue Jacques Stas in Gasperich, Luxembourg City.
According to initial reports, the victim disembarked from a bus when she noticed an unknown man trailing her. The perpetrator demanded money from the victim, but she refused.
Undeterred, the assailant forcibly seized her phone before fleeing the scene. Despite the ordeal, the victim attempted to pursue the thief, prompting a brief struggle before the assailant escaped. The victim emerged unharmed from the encounter, and law enforcement promptly initiated an investigation into the incident.
In a separate incident on Thursday night, a police patrol in Mamer observed a motorist exhibiting erratic driving behaviour, including swerving, crossing into oncoming lanes, and nearly colliding with a traffic island. The vehicle was intercepted by law enforcement shortly thereafter, and subsequent testing revealed that the driver was inebriated. As a result, the driver’s licence was revoked.
