The market might have slowed down and Luxembourgish owners might be branching out into electric vehicles these days, but one thing remains the same - classic tones are preferred when choosing car colours.
In 2022, the most common colour selected for new cars was grey, accounting for more than three out of ten new vehicles. The second most popular colour were black (two out of ten cars) and white. Together, these three colours made up more than 75% of new cars sold in the Grand Duchy.
Blue and red account for just under 20% of new car sales, with all other colours making up the remaining percentage. The National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) says this ranking has remained unchanged since 2019, according to analysis of data from the National Society of Automobile Traffic (SNCA).
So, it appears that Luxembourg overall prefers simple shades for its extensive car population.
