This directive applies to various electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, tablets, cameras, and headphones. Henceforth, these devices must feature a USB-C connection, and upon purchase, a universal charger must be provided.

However, the accompanying cable does not have to be part of the package. The packaging of these devices must clearly indicate whether a cable is included or not.

In the session of the Chamber of Deputies’ Economic Affairs Committee on Thursday, MP Carole Hartmann from the Democratic Party (DP) has been designated as the rapporteur for the legislative project aimed at incorporating this directive into national law.
