At around 9.25pm on Monday evening, the police received reports of smoke coming out of house in rue General Patton in Wiltz. According to initial findings, the fire started in the basement of the building. The single-family house, which is located in close vicinity to the ‘Lycée du Nord’ secondary school, is currently uninhabited.

Despite the fact that the police did not find anyone in the house, investigators cannot rule out arson as the cause of the fire for the time being. The public prosecutor’s office in Diekirch was informed of the incident, and the forensic police were sent out to secure evidence. A report of the incident was drawn up and an investigation was launched.
