Two individuals were caught shoplifting at a petrol station shop in Marnach on Wednesday morning.
Staff at the shop witnessed the theft and promptly alerted the police, who located and apprehended the suspects shortly afterward.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that the pair had already stolen backpacks from another shop, which they intended to use to transport their second haul.
As both individuals had prior encounters with law enforcement, the Diekirch public prosecutor’s office ordered their arrest. They were brought before an examining magistrate on Thursday morning.
