Providing cross-border house callsTrier defendants challenge verdict in prostitution, human trafficking case

RTL Today
Six individuals from Trier accused of running a cross-border prostitution ring, including human trafficking and money laundering, are set to challenge their suspended prison sentences in a new trial on Tuesday afternoon.

In 2018, Luxembourg authorities made initial arrests in a case of suspected prostitution, human trafficking, and money-laundering. Six people based in Trier, including three women in leading positions and three drivers, were put on trial and given suspended prison sentences for allegedly providing house calls to cross-border clients.

However, the defendants appealed the verdict, arguing that they were unaware that house calls were illegal in the Grand Duchy. The trial will therefore enter a new phase on Tuesday afternoon.
