A car accident on the Route d’Arlon created a road closure in Belair, followed by two interventions by police on the same stretch of road.

Around 1am on Friday morning, police were made aware of a car driving in the emergency lane from Windhof towards Horn. They were able to stop the car shortly after, and the driver was asked to take a breathalyser test. The test came back positive, and the driver’s license was suspended.

At roughly the same time, on the Route d’Arlon, a car accident unfolded near a construction site. The driver was uninjured, while the road was closed for cleanup.

Around 1.50 am, the police were made aware of a car crossing the same barrier that was installed to prevent access to the Route d’Arlon accident scene. The driver’s breathalyser test came back positive, resulting in a temporary suspension of the driver’s licence.

Shortly after this accident, another car was spotted travelling at an excessive speed on the same route. The breathalyser test was, once again, positive - and a report issued.

Around 3.30 am in Diekirch, another driver driving under the influence of alcohol while driving at excessive speed - was apprehended. In this case as well, a report was issued.
