On Monday night, burglars targeted a shop in Differdange specialising in video games and trading cards.
According to the owner’s son, the thieves made off with approximately 100 rare Pokémon cards, which had been professionally appraised, as well as four to five boxes of booster packs. The stolen items are estimated to be worth around €30,000. The owner’s son confirmed that the cards were insured, and the business expects to recover some of the financial loss.
The break-in was discovered on Tuesday morning when a staff member arrived at the shop and noticed the door had been forced open. Inside, they found numerous cards scattered across the floor and immediately alerted the police.
The police have confirmed that the break-in took place between Monday evening and Tuesday morning. A forensic police unit was on site and an incident report has been drawn up.
