The mechanism, which was introduced in March 2021 following the invasion of Russia in Ukraine, will run until 4 March 2025.
All affected persons were contacted by mail by the ministry to have their papers renewed. This is also a reminder for people who have not applied for the status to get their documents in order, the ministry says.
People with temporary protection are granted the right to live and remain in Luxembourg, to work and receive assistance provided by the Luxembourg State, but limits other rights, such as access to child benefits.
