Two young people were mugged in Avenue de la Gare on Wednesday morning. Police immediately launched a search and were able to detain the suspects, who still had the stolen money on them, soon after. The main suspect already faced an examining magistrate.
Elsewhere in Gare district, a presumed dealer tried escaping the police by quickly getting on a tram. Officers were however able to identify and detain him soon after. A body search showed that the man had swallowed 36 packages of cocaine.
The prosecution thus ordered for a full body scan to take place to ensure that all drugs can be recovered, while the dealer will have to face an examining magistrate.
Police also fined one person for purchasing cocaine from the dealer.
