Upon enquiry by our colleagues from RTL.lu, the responsible Ministry confirmed that it had received 50,725 applications since the grant system was introduced in 2019. Nearly 20,000 of these applications were for electric bicycles.
So far, about one third of the applications (38%) have been approved, the majority of which fall under the “Neistart Lëtzebuerg” umbrella.
However, when it comes to actually paying out the grants, there is still a significant delay.
At the moment, the Ministry is processing applications from October 2020, i.e. exactly one year ago.
