Activity in the skilled crafts sector fell during the second quarter of the year, against a backdrop of inflation and an economic slowdown, resulting in a drop of 5.5 points.
The figures were released by the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts, which noted that the construction sector, among others, is struggling to pick up momentum.
The impact of inflation, the Chamber added, is also being felt on the ground. Households are contending with high energy costs and, as a result, have less room for investment.
The Chamber, for its part, hopes that government measures to boost demand will be brought in swiftly and prove effective.
