The intercommunal waste management association Sidec has issued a call on Facebook, urging residents to donate old toys to their resource centres instead of throwing them away. This initiative forms part of their ongoing ‘Re-Use’ campaign, which aims to give discarded toys a second life while also reducing waste.
Since its establishment in 1972, Sidec has been responsible for the comprehensive management of household and similar waste across 45 member municipalities in northern Luxembourg.
To support this effort, Sidec operates four regional collection points in Diekirch-Fridhaff, Mersch, Lentzweiler, and Redange/Attert, making it easy for people to contribute.
As an added incentive, anyone who donates a toy can choose a toy to take home, further promoting sustainable practices and community involvement.
