
A vehicle had swerved off the road and hit the pavement as well as a railing and a streetlamp. No one was injured but the material damage was significant. The driver turned out to be inebriated. The police revoked his driving licence and informed the public prosecutor’s office of the incident.
Prior to this event, a police patrol on the N10 between Schengen and Remich noticed a motorist who was driving erratically. When they pulled him over, it became clear that the driver was heavily intoxicated. The officers seized the car, withdrew the driving licence, and informed the public prosecutor’s office.
According to the police, several more driving licences were revoked on early Saturday morning in Luxembourg City, all due to drink-driving.
During a traffic check in Diekirch, a police patrol noticed a driver speeding along Route d’Ettelbruck at 97 km/h instead of respecting the legal speed limit of 50 km/h. The driver had to hand over his driving licence on the spot and was fined.
