The Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) has announced that the management of Protection Unit, a security services company, has informed its staff delegation of its decision to cease operations in Luxembourg.
Protection Unit, which was founded in Liège, employs nearly 3,000 people across Belgium and the Grand Duchy. The closure of its Luxembourg operations will directly affect 300 employees. According to the company’s management, the decision is part of a judicial reorganisation procedure aimed at transferring the business to ensure job preservation and the continuity of services for customers.
The LCGB has stated that it will seek a meeting with the company’s management to clarify the situation and to advocate for “the preservation of jobs, as well as the rights and working conditions of Protection Unit Luxembourg employees.”
