The harvest is set to begin along Luxembourg’s wine trail within the next few weeks. As the grapes required for products such as Luxembourgish crémant and high quality wines must be harvested by hand, the Grand Duchy’s winemakers are seeking manual workers to help with the harvest.
The National Employment Agency (ADEM) announced the launch of a recruitment campaign to find seasonal workers on Thursday, in collaboration with the Wine Institute. 2022’s harvest is planned to begin earlier than expected, hence the call for applications.
In 2021, some 31 candidates were hired to assist with the harvest. The Ministry of Agriculture called it a “very successful year”, and announced that ADEM is responsible for pre-selecting and contacting applicants.
