Earlier than anticipatedSchieburg tunnel to reopen for 3 weeks from 24 July

Rail traffic was due to be restored from 5 August on the line between Troisvierges and Luxembourg City, but passengers will continue to experience disruption this summer

In a press release, CFL announced on Thursday that work had progressed faster than anticipated on renovating the Schieburg tunnel following a landslide last year. Trains will therefore resume on line 10 from 24 July.

However, the good news was quickly overshadowed by the announcement that the tunnel will close again from 20 August to 10 September due to maintenance and modernisation works, planned prior to the damage caused by the landslide.

Passengers from the north will therefore have to wait a little longer until normal service resumes completely in September - over a year since the line first closed.
