
On Monday afternoon, the police received a report of criminals showing up at the homes of residents in the Cents neighbourhood of the capital. According to one victim, two individuals, falsely claiming to be collecting donations, gained entry to a residence. Once inside, they distracted the resident by requesting a glass of water. Taking advantage of the latter’s brief absence, they made off with the victim’s wallet and swiftly fled the scene. A police investigation was initiated.
Shortly before 1am on Tuesday, a police patrol spotted a “suspicious” vehicle in Belvaux, intercepting it as it exited the Gaalgebierg car park. During the inspection, the officers detected the smell of cannabis. The driver admitted to recent cannabis consumption, while a small quantity of the substance was found on the passenger.
Later that night, around 3am, another patrol encountered a vehicle travelling at high speed and swerving on the A13. Subsequent police intervention revealed the driver to be inebriated, resulting in the suspension of their driving licence.
