October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In Luxembourg, one in eight women may develop breast cancer during her lifetime.

Both genetic and environmental factors can contribute to the development of breast cancer. Therefore, it is important to check one's breasts regularly and to take part in screening programmes.

In 2025, 26,131 mammograms were carried out in Luxembourg, with cancer diagnosed in 146 cases. Mammography screening in Luxembourg is recommended for women between the ages of 45 and 74.

Whether running, jogging or walking, the goal was the same: to show up and show support.
