On the Luxembourg side, the Luxembourg National Railway Company (CFL) has set up a replacement bus service in both directions between Bettembourg and Thionville. Delays are to be expected due to road traffic.
Passengers travelling from France to Luxembourg are asked to use the RB (Luxembourg City - Pétange) trains, and in the opposite direction the RE (Luxembourg City - Rodange) between Luxembourg City and Bettembourg.
Upon enquiry by our colleagues at RTL 5 Minutes, the CFL confirmed an incident involving a freight train on which a leak of dangerous materials was detected.
According to the CFL, traffic should resume normally from 8am onwards on Friday, an information which was also confirmed by the French SNCF:
A previously cancelled train, TER88719 Luxembourg CIty 08:16 - Metz 09:14 has been rescheduled and should run normally again.
