According to initial reports, a man has fallen victim to a violent attack. He was taken to the hospital but is not in life-threatening condition, police confirmed upon inquiry. It is believed that a knife was not involved in the incident.
As the victim cannot clearly recall the events, authorities are now searching for witnesses, a police spokesperson told RTL. The incident is thought to have occurred early Sunday afternoon near the Hamilius tram stop or in the Gare district.
Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the Luxembourg City police station by phone at (+352) 244 40 1000 or via email at police.luxembourg@police.etat.lu.
This comes just two weeks after another incident on 26 January, when police were alerted to an injured man near the Hamilius tram stop. In that case, initial reports indicated that a knife was involved, and the victim sustained serious injuries requiring hospitalisation.
