In a major operation on Wednesday, Luxembourg City police conducted extensive controls in the Gare district, stopping 85 individuals to check for drug possession, weapons, and residence permit violations.

Police on Wednesday carried out a large scale check on Rue Joseph Junck and on Rue du Fort Neipperg in Luxembourg City’s Gare district. Officers checked passers-by for a variety of things, including drug and weapons possession, residence permits, and identification papers.

A total of 85 individuals were stopped, according to the official report. Several of them were found to be carrying small amounts of cannabis and MDMA. Officers further confiscated a baton and identified six people without valid residence permits.

89 police officers took part in the large-scale check and were supported by members of the Labour and Mines Inspectorate (ITM).
