
Police on Wednesday carried out a large scale check on Rue Joseph Junck and on Rue du Fort Neipperg in Luxembourg City’s Gare district. Officers checked passers-by for a variety of things, including drug and weapons possession, residence permits, and identification papers.
A total of 85 individuals were stopped, according to the official report. Several of them were found to be carrying small amounts of cannabis and MDMA. Officers further confiscated a baton and identified six people without valid residence permits.
89 police officers took part in the large-scale check and were supported by members of the Labour and Mines Inspectorate (ITM).
