The announcement, made on Friday evening, introduced 21 candidates who will represent the party in the upcoming legislative elections.
The list, headed by Member of Parliament Sven Clement and Mayor Mandy Arendt, comprises ten women and eleven men. The party hopes this diverse group will appeal to a broad spectrum of voters. The average age of the candidates is 41, ranging from the youngest, Lucy Agostini, at 18, to the oldest at 69.
While many of the candidates are new to the political arena, the list also includes some familiar faces. Among them are Hesperange Councillor Mathis Godefroid, political advisor Tommy Klein, lawyer Gabriel Bleser, and Jerry Weyer, who secured second place in the 2018 elections.
The Pirate Party’s goal is to surpass the results of the 2018 elections, where it secured one seat and 5 percent of the vote in central Luxembourg. With this new roster of candidates, the party is poised to make a significant impact in the forthcoming elections.
