Pedro Resende is no longer the head coach of FC Differdange, effective immediately, as he prepares to take over at Excelsior Virton, who currently play in Belgium’s second division. An official unveiling is scheduled for Monday.

FC Differdange confirmed Resende’s departure on Sunday. This is not the first time he has left the club: Resende first managed Differdange between 2021 and 2022, before being dismissed in October of that year and returning the following season.

During his tenure, Resende guided Differdange to back-to-back BGL Ligue titles and also claimed a Luxembourg Cup. After a brief stint with Czech club Budejovice, he once again returned to Differdange.

Currently, Differdange sit second in the Luxembourg league, trailing Strassen by a single point. The club is set to face the defending champions in the last sixteen of the Luxembourg Cup next weekend.
