Emergency services responded to a call concerning a pedestrian who sustained severe injuries during a woodland walk.
The Nature and Forest Agency (ANF) has reminded the public that forests naturally present certain hazards. Heat and dry weather, increasing as a result of climate change, can weaken trees. Even trees that may appear healthy can be potentially dangerous.
The ANF called upon the public to exercise caution and to stick to marked paths when walking in the forest. They also advise pedestrians not to spend too long under trees and to respect any temporary path closures or safety measures.
