The police are looking for witnesses in connection with a hit-and-run accident in Ingeldorf.

At around 6pm on Saturday, a pedestrian was hit by a car on the zebra crossing near a fast food restaurant on Route d’Ettelbruck in Ingeldorf. The pedestrian, who was travelling on an electric scooter, was seriously injured. The driver of the car that hit the pedestrian signalled that he wanted to remove the car from the road. However, contrary to what was said, he did not return, but used the excuse to flee the scene.

According to the police, it was a red car with a German ‘BIT’ licence plate. The driver is said to be around 40 years old.

Witnesses who saw the accident or have information about the car or the driver are asked to contact the Diekirch/Vianden police station on 244801000. Tips can also be reported by dialling 113.
