On Wednesday, the Ministry of the Civil Service announced it had reached an agreement with the General Confederation of the Civil Service (CGFP) regarding worker compensation. The accord involves an increase in the index point value, which serves as the basis for calculating workers’ salaries.
A press conference is scheduled for 2pm on Wednesday, where Minister for the Civil Service Serge Wilmes and CGFP President Romain Wolff will provide further details about the agreement.
According to information obtained by RTL, the press conference will feature the announcement of a 2% rise in the index point value effective this year, followed by an additional 0.5% increase in 2026. These adjustments will raise the pay of civil servants and public employees, at an estimated cost of €108 million to the State.
Additionally, individuals in leadership positions will receive an extra seven index points and the correction coefficient for overtime in the education sector will be abolished.
