The incident unfolded when law enforcement responded to a call reporting a disturbance involving two individuals in the Gare neighbourhood. Initial attempts to diffuse the situation were made by security personnel present at the scene before police took over.
According to the police report, the two individuals, visibly intoxicated, showed resistance to pacifying efforts. One of the individuals escalated the situation by becoming aggressive, directing verbal abuse and spitting at the responding officers. Despite repeated attempts to de-escalate the confrontation, the individual’s behaviour persisted, leading to their subsequent arrest and placement in police custody to sober up.
In a separate incident, a motorist sustained minor injuries in Koetschette after colliding with a tree and a lamppost. Upon arrival, responding officers determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the revocation of their driving licence.
Additionally, authorities have confirmed two burglary incidents occurring on Saturday night, with the first reported in Müllendorf and the second in Goesdorf.
