According to the police report, a motorist was in the process of overtaking, but failed to notice another vehicle travelling from the opposite direction. In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision, the driver switched back to the correct lane, but crashed into the car they were trying to overtake. Both cars struck the security barriers and suffered extensive damage.
The driver who caused the incident escaped without injury, while the second driver suffered minor injuries and shock following the crash.
