After a representative from the Luxembourgish Association of Nurses (ALAS) recently made statements to the press on the lack of recognition of their profession, MPs Martine Hansen (CSV), Fred Keup and Jeff Engelen (both ADR), and Mars di Bartolomeo (LSAP) questioned the Ministers of Health and Education in the Chamber of Deputies to find out whether nurses still have a future, whether their remit is going to be adapted, and what will be done to make it more attractive.

A project foresees an updating of the remit of the nursing profession, which will not lead to any change in training, explained the two ministers in their responses. They also issued a reminder that the Ministry of Health launched a campaign entitled ‘Healthcareers.lu’ last September to promote and enhance the value of the health professions, including that of nurses.
