In Kayl, an inebriated driver lost control over his vehicle and damaged three parked cars.

The incident occurred at around 1.30am on early Tuesday morning. No one was injured, but the motorist lost his driving licence. Shortly before 4am, another accident was reported in Kayl. This time, a car had crashed into a tree. While the damage to the car was substantial, no one was injured. The driver, on the other hand, was found to be intoxicated.

In Wickrange, an inebriated man was arrested due to his hostile behaviour towards the rescue workers of the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), who attempted to treat the man before deciding to call the police. The man was also aggressive towards the police officers. The latter put him in a cell for the night, revoked his driving licence, and seized his car.

At the Schaffner roundabout in Luxembourg City, a woman jumped a red light. When the police pulled her over, the officers discovered that she was inebriated and withdrew her driving licence. Another driving licence was withdrawn in Esch-sur-Alzette on Monday evening.

In Saeul, two driving licences were withdrawn within just one hour. The police pulled over two drunk drivers at 3am and 4am, respectively. The second driver even attempted to get behind the wheel of his car again, despite having assured the police that someone would come to pick him up. The car was seized, and the public prosecutor’s office was informed of the incident.

Two more driving licences were withdrawn during large-scale checks in the area of Bettendorf, Diekirch, and Ingeldorf. These checks were carried out on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office.
