Tuesday's primary focus was a video showing a reconstruction of the first murder in the case, which took place in woodland around Schléiwenhaff and Fräiheetsbam.
The reconstruction sought to uncover the question of the murder of the 36 year old drug dealer, as both men accused have made different statements.
The second man accused stated that he was driving the car as they went to collect the victim. The victim sat in the passenger seat while the main accused sat in the back of the vehicle. The second accused went on to say there had not been an argument, the main accused simply shot the victim at close range.
The man facing the main accusations contested this statement, saying he and the other man had swapped places. He alleged that the second accused and the drug dealer had argued over the cost of the drugs, at which point the second man shot the victim. They then drove from Pétange to Leudelange. The investigating judge then interrupted to say the main accused had changed his version of events after a year and a half. The judicial police investigator showed images of blood splatters within the vehicle which proved the victim had been shot through the passenger seat headrest.
The investigator also went on to explain that an acquaintance of the main accused had given a statement, saying the main accused had sent a text message admitting to the drug dealer's murder, as well as a separate message admitting the second murder. Another acquaintance corroborated this statement, saying they had also received a text message confirming the first murder.
The second man accused was taken into custody a week after the second murder. At the start, he had not cooperated well in regards to the first murder, giving one version of events which turned out to be untrue. A day later the accused then changed his story when faced by the investigating judge. This version was used for the reconstruction of the murder. He maintained that he drove the body to Leudelange and dumped it in the woods. He also claimed he was not present for the second murder.
The trial continues on Wednesday.
