On Friday morning, a large crane placed the last three plane trees (Platanus × acerifolia) in their allocated spots at Place Guillaume II. The trees arrived from a Belgian tree nursery on Friday. Each tree weighs almost four tonnes and they are almost 25-years-old.
Due to technical difficulties, the previous trees could not stay in their original locations, despite being in good condition. However, new homes are being scouted for these trees in the city.
