A section-based speed camera has been installed on the N15 between Niederfeulen and Fuussekaul, just over six months after a tragic head-on collision on the same stretch claimed five lives in early September 2025.
The new camera, which operates in both directions, entered its test phase on Monday, 30 March.
On 11 May, the government announced that the test phase was coming to an end. From 18 May, the camera will enter its enforcement phase and will flag motorists who fail to adhere to the speed limits.
As a reminder, a section-based speed camera calculates the average speed of vehicles over the entire length of the section concerned. The maximum authorised speed on the N15 between Niederfeulen and Fuussekaul is 90 km/h. A tolerance of 3 km/h (for speeds below 100 km/h) and 3% (for speeds above 100 km/h) will be deducted from the calculated value.
