Reding clarified that his movement should not be perceived as a citizens’ list, emphasising that potential candidates must align with and endorse the Liberté manifesto.
However, Reding stressed that Liberté is also not a political party but rather “a movement by the people, for the people.”

The primary objective is to assemble three complete candidate lists, with the option of expanding to four if possible. The list for the northern region is already complete, and some people have already come forward for the list in eastern Luxembourg, according to Reding.
Speaking with RTL.lu, Reding expressed his intention to participate in the elections in the central electoral district with the goal of retaining his current position as an MP after 8 October.
He acknowledged that finding 23 candidates for the southern region may prove more challenging than in the central region, where 21 candidates are required.
Reding recently left the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (adr) and thereby became his own political affiliation, which he labelled Liberté Chérie, in the Chamber of Deputies.
