On Saturday, the Télévie fundraising marathon came to a close with the main Télévie day broadcast on RTL.

Throughout the year, individuals, volunteers, clubs, associations, and companies took part in Télévie, raising funds and supporting the fight against cancer.

On 18 April, RTL hosted the main Télévie day. Early in the morning, the donation counter was launched on the radio, allowing people to continue contributing.

Phone lines were open from 7am, and live updates, reports, and testimonials were broadcast throughout the day.

In the evening, during the live programme on RTL, the final total of all donations collected over the year was announced: €1,521,863.

As every year, all proceeds will go towards cancer research in Luxembourg.

A heartfelt thank you

On behalf of everyone involved, RTL extends its sincere thanks.

A special thank you goes to all those who contributed throughout the year, as well as to those who included Télévie in their wills, continuing to support the cause even after their passing.

Highlights from the donation centres

This year, Télévie centres, which also provided many memorable photos, were located in:

  • Feulen
  • Bissen
  • Rodange (permanent centre since 2002)

All Télévie photo galleries can be found on RTL, along with further information on televie.rtl.lu.

Cooperation with Belgium since 1989

Télévie is a charity initiative organised in French-speaking Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg by RTL-TVI since 1989, in support of the F.R.S.-FNRS. It raises funds to support scientific research in the fight against cancer and leukaemia, in both children and adults, and culminates in a televised closing event.

Each year, the funds raised are transferred to the F.R.S.-FNRS, which is responsible for evaluating the scientific projects submitted to Télévie. The selected projects receive the full amount raised, while the costs related to the evaluation process are covered by the organisation’s own budget.

Since 2002, RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg has also taken part, working alongside the Belgian broadcaster and organising a simultaneous closing evening broadcast.
