
The average temperature reached 18.9°C, marking a deviation of +2.2°C from the 1991–2020 norm. Sunshine levels were exceptionally high, totalling 280.3 hours – 39.1 hours above the monthly average. Meanwhile, precipitation was slightly above normal at 82.4 mm, an excess of 6.8 mm.
Temperatures remained consistently above climatological norms throughout the majority of the month, with daily highs reaching up to 32.5°C. Even on the chilliest mornings, temperatures never dipped below 4.0°C. The prolonged warmth, combined with elevated humidity levels, created prime conditions for atmospheric instability.
With nearly 280 hours of sunshine recorded, June 2025 ranks among the sunniest Junes ever observed at Findel. Several long, dry spells contributed to the extended sunshine, with only ten days registering measurable rainfall.
Despite the overall moderate rainfall, precipitation was not evenly spread. Showers arrived in heavy, localised bursts, with one 24-hour period seeing 20.4 mm of rain.
Luxembourg experienced four stormy days, with five distinct thunderstorm events – an unusually high number for early summer. Meteolux data suggest that warm ground temperatures and moist air masses were behind a series of convective episodes, producing lightning, heavy rain, and brief but intense wind gusts.
