Zeien stated that relying solely on voluntary measures falls short of addressing the pressing issues, citing instances of socialwashing and greenwashing. He stressed the importance of cultivating an economy that genuinely upholds human rights, combats climate change, and safeguards biodiversity and the environment in the next five years.
These core values, Zeien suggested, should be ingrained in the very fabric of the economy, with particular attention to international economic and financial interactions.
