A new national award for “architectural excellence” has been established in Luxembourg. The ‘Lëtzebuerger Architekturpräis’ (Luxembourg Architecture Prize) will be presented every four years.

Minister for Culture Eric Thill announced the prize, which will honour an architect for “their complete body of work, their career, and their commitment to the Luxembourg architectural scene”. The winner will also receive €10,000.

The award is open to Luxembourgish architects or to those working or residing in the country who can demonstrate “strong cultural ties” to it. A jury of five experts will be appointed in early 2026 to select the inaugural laureate.

The full schedule for the first edition will be unveiled at a press conference on 3 March 2026 at 11am, to be held at the LUCA – Luxembourg Center for Architecture.

This initiative forms part of the Cultural Development Plan 2018–2028, which aims to promote cultural creation and enhance the visibility of Luxembourg’s architecture both nationally and internationally.
