The company in charge of Luxembourg’s CargoCentre activities – formerly operated by Luxair, now managed by Cargolux –signed a new collective agreement last week. On 24 January, management and trade unions reached a consensus on new terms for the 1,200 employees of the company.
The agreement, signed by both the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) and the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) – largely mirrors the previous Luxair deal, but also incorporates provisions from the personnel transfer agreement.
Key points include a two-step salary increase for affected employees and a “job guarantee” safeguarding workers from economic redundancies due to over-staffing. In such cases, Luxcargo Handling has committed to negotiating an employment retention plan.
The agreement is retroactively effective from the date of the staff transfer and will remain in force for two years, until 30 April 2026.
