Whether Luxembourgers are travelling to snowy or warm destinations, one thing is clear: the week-long Carnival holidays are the prime time to get away.
Thomas Fischer, Commercial Director of Luxair, confirms that almost 10,000 passengers are flying with the airline this weekend. To the Canaries and Egypt, for sunny destinations, but also to Lapland for snowy escapades.
The first planes took off from Findel at 6am on Saturday morning, bound for Palma de Mallorca, Porto and Malta. On Saturday alone, the airline is “expecting around 5,000 to 6,000 passengers. In general, there are usually 10,000 passengers for this weekend at this time of year”.
