CSV’s Luc Frieden recently disclosed, in the process of leading coalition negotiations, that state finances in Luxembourg are facing significant challenges. This was subsequently confirmed by documents released by the Inspectorate of Finance. However, the Pirates argue that this contradicts earlier predictions made within the Chamber of Deputies several months ago. The Pirates are calling for complete transparency, demanding that all Chamber members have direct access to the documents discussed during the coalition talks held in Senneng.
As the ‘new’ opposition party, LSAP joined the Pirates to voice their concerns and express their grievances in a letter addressed to the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Michel Wolter.
Any recent developments regarding state finances must be submitted to the Chamber as soon as possible. The LSAP stated that they found it incomprehensible that elected deputies would not be privy to the same knowledge as coalition delegates in the midst of negotiations. After all, the LSAP states, non-elected individuals are also participating in the negotiations.
