By now, most of the classic holiday destinations can only be reached if travellers carry a negative Covid test. Appointments for free tests can be made via MyGuichet.lu, after which one is assigned a free spot in the Large-Scale-Testing.
However, there are no appointments available at the moment, which has caused some amount of distress for a number of travellers, who have already booked a holiday abroad.
The Ministry of Health has indicated that only a limited amount of spots in the Large Scale Testing are reserved for travellers. Furthermore, a "first come, first serve" policy is in place for appointments. There are no plans to increase the testing capacity before the Easter holidays.
The free tests are actually intended to be used by business travellers and people who need to leave the country for private emergencies. Since there are no more free appointments, travellers now have to get a test at a private lab.
