On Thursday afternoon, the Gare neighbourhood in Luxembourg City became the focal point of a large-scale “crime control” operation.

Luxembourg police deployed 40 officers and two canine units in a coordinated crackdown targeting drug trafficking, immigration violations, and licensing infractions in bars. A total of 70 individuals were checked, leading to several arrests, including one suspect caught with 38 cocaine pellets, prompting a home search. Officers also confiscated 40g of marijuana and 10g of hashish.

During the operation, authorities discovered a bag containing a switchblade, a baton, and a tear gas canister. Additionally, police apprehended a suspect who had allegedly stolen a phone nearby, successfully returning the device to its owner
