The Indian Arts and Cultural Association of Luxembourg is bringing the vibrant celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi to the Grand Duchy for the first time, inviting the community to partake in a rich cultural and spiritual experience on Saturday, 7 September.

The Indian Arts and Cultural Association of Luxembourg (IACAL) is set to bring the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi to Luxembourg for the very first time. This celebration marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity of wisdom, prosperity, and new beginnings, and is a cultural extravaganza featuring a range of religious rituals and cultural activities.

Attendees can expect to experience various poojas, Hindu rituals of worship involving prayers, offerings, and ceremonies performed to honour and seek blessings from deities.

The day will also include cultural activities that highlight India’s rich traditions and vibrant heritage. For instance, Modak, a sweet dumpling considered Ganesha’s favourite, will be offered during the rituals. The festivities will eventually conclude with a grand procession and the immersion of Ganesh idols, symbolising the deity’s return to Mount Kailash.

The event will take place at 3 Rue des Ecoles in Schouweiler on Saturday, 7 September, from 3–8.30pm. The event is free to enter, and no registration is required.
