On Thursday and Friday, farmers in France are planning a blockade on the A31 motorway near Thionville in both directions. The blockade will start on Thursday morning around 9-10am and is expected to last for 35 hours. Other areas in the Moselle department will also be affected.

Farmers are expressing dissatisfaction with their situation not only in France, but also in Germany and Romania for example.

In Luxembourg, Martine Hansen, the Minister for Agriculture, held a meeting with the Farmers’ Alliance. It has been stated in a press release that the situation for pig farmers, with whom a meeting has already been scheduled, is quite precarious.

Simplifying administrative procedures would be a priority. Hansen also confirmed that all subsidies for the sector in the country would be maintained. The 4th of March is also the date for the first Agriculture Round Table.
