The protestors made no secret of their dislike for masks, most of them arguing that it is an infringement of person liberty, and that they do not protect anyone from the virus.
Between 200 and 300 people thus assembled in the heart of Luxembourg City on Saturday to benefit from the good weather and demonstrate their views by ignoring distancing and masks. Although the core of the group was dancing closely together on Place d’Armes, a few others preferred to watch the spectacle from a safer distance.
The police was present at the scene on Saturday to observe the demonstrations, which all unfolded peacefully. However, as a reminder, it is currently still not allowed to gather in large groups without physical distancing and wearing masks.
