Quick warnings and swift action in case of natural disasters or other crises – that is the goal of a series of measures presented on Monday by Minister for Home Affairs Léon Gloden, together with the High Commission for National Protection.

Among other things, the LU-Alert system is being further adapted and expanded. In the future, for example, warning messages will also be displayed on digital panels such as those found at bus stops. Through the “RESC-LU” system, a national list of available emergency equipment in the country is being compiled to enable appropriate response in emergencies.

The new crisis management plan is primarily aimed at enabling early action so that people can be warned as early as possible, Minister Gloden explained.

Efforts have been made to professionalise communication and information sharing, so that in the future people can receive faster, more coherent, and more effective information and assistance, the minister further emphasised.
