Officers were first alerted to a reckless river on the A13 motorway, direction Belgium. The respective car could be identified and stopped in Bascharage soon after. Since the driver’s alcohol test came back positive, officers awarded a driving ban.
Shortly before 2am, a car was seen driving in the wrong direction over the tram tracks on Pont Adolphe in the capital. Police were able to stop the driver soon after, and since the alcohol test came back positive, officers awarded a driving ban and pressed charges.
Around 3am, another reckless driver caught the attention of police, this time in Rue Dicks in Luxembourg City. Same as the previous drivers, the man tested positive for alcohol. Since he behaved aggressively and was considered to pose a threat for himself and others, officers took him to the station to sober up.
Two more drink drivers lost their licenses on Wednesday evening, one in Schleif, the other in Givenich.
In Mersch, officers further encountered an intoxicated driver, against whom they also decided to press charges.
